Renovated baroque Gewerken castle in Rosental - 17 km from Klagenfurt

The origins go back to the 16th/17th century, when iron processing reached its peak here. In the Baroque period, the castle was given its current appearance by the Benaglio family around 1750. The current owner family has renovated the castle over the last few decades with a lot of love and, above all, a feeling for the historical flair. The complex now presents itself as a real residential castle that offers enough space for a larger family with friends and guests.

In total, there are 9 bathrooms, several kitchens and several separate or, if necessary, easily separable living units. Many original furnishing details such as floors, ceilings, railings, etc. have been preserved throughout the castle and radiate the splendor of a bygone era, coupled with a contemporary attitude to life. The castle, which offers around 600 m² of living space, can still be entered today through a Renaissance portal framed with diamond blocks.

An impressive staircase with a historic iron railing leads to the main floor. The high hipped roof is designed as a cold roof and is in perfect condition. In the side wing with approx. 225 m² of living space there are basically 3 separate apartments with their own entrance from the street, independent of the castle.

Existing connections between the castle and the outbuildings could easily be reopened if necessary. The castle is connected to the public electricity, water, sewerage and telephone networks. In the main wing, an air heat pump was installed in the attic and is heated with it.

The side wing is heated by liquid gas heating. There are also various wood stoves distributed throughout the property, such as a stove, a tiled stove, two Swedish stoves, an open fireplace, etc.
